The Emirates Astronomy Society has published the predicted times of the major Islamic holidays in UAE in 2026 Ramadan, Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha among others. Such dates are made on astronomical projections and can change according to the official moon sighting, nearer to the date.
Approximately, Ibrahim Al Jarwan, the Chairman of the Emirates Astronomy Society sheds some light on information that Ramadan 2026 would commence on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Ramadan is the ninth month of Islamic calendar which is followed by the Muslims with fasting throughout the day between dawn and sunset and also involving spiritual reflections, prayers and charity among others. The fast is celebrated each evening with the breaking of fast with some dates and traditional food on a daily basis.
Eid Al Fitr, a Ramadan festival, will most probably be recorded on Friday the 20 th of March, 2026 which is the first day of Shawwal month. This is a festive that usually comprises morning prayers, family reunions, as well as festive meals.
Eid Al Adha 2026 (Festival of sacrifice) is projected to fall on Wednesday 27 th day of May 2026, when it coincides with the 10 th of Dhu Al Hijjah. It is a holiday which comes after the Day of Arafah and marks the end of the Hajj pilgrimage. It is a period of praying, sacrifice of animal and sharing of food with all and sundry and people who are loved.
