UAE: Reduce Electricity Bills During Summer with This Trick

With the onset of summer in UAE becoming even more felt with the hot months now setting in, Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation PJSC (Empower) has called on the residents to adjust their air conditioning systems’ default temperature to 24 °C. This practice which Empower introduced through the PowerSaver light bulbs “Set at 24°C and Save” campaign is focused on lowering electricity bills and energy usage.

The initiative has been launched for the eleventh time in a row and aims to urge both the residential and commercial customers to cease using this energy-saving measure after the summer. Ahmad bin Shafar, the CEO of Empower pointed out that when ACs units are set at 24 degree Celsius it proves important in the cooling efficiency, less utilization of electricity, and hence conservation of power and emanating less carbon, this makes it a way of preserving the environment.

They observed that the nature of the campaign shows a customer consciousness and concern derived from realizing their accountability in contributing to energy conservation as well as the conservation of the environment as defined by the principles of economizing natural resources where necessary and the fight against global warming.
