UAE Thwarts 200,000 Daily Cyberattacks to Protect Critical Infrastructure

The UAE Cyber Security Council has also recently disrupted a tremendous severity of cyberattacks achieving the goal of protecting public and private sectors against increasing cyber dangers. National CEBID programs have proven great essentiality in the prevention of malicious ‘’Ransomware’’ attacks on vital sectors in the nation.

These attacks were targeting important information and information technology networks. Emergency measures in the sphere of cybersecurity together with adequate authorities reported and prevented about 200 thousand cyber threats per day. Regarding hackers and their roots, brisk measures inside the form of improved protection mechanisms and rock-bottom cybersecurity measures were put in place.

As with the previous attempts, breaches have been observed to have grown more advanced using the AI technologies. The danger of deepfakes, social engineering, and AI-based ransomware is on the rise, to threaten essential digital assets. Phishing for example remains such a traditional attack that is always used along with these advanced attacks making it extremely hard to detect when there is no modern tool to combat it with.

The UAE is set on strengthening its fortified digital ecosystem by the endorsement of the Cyber Security Council under chairman Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti. But he affirmed that the nation’s cutting edge digital environment has all the tools and mechanisms to identify all forms of cyber dangers as well as to respond to them swiftly and accurately.

In its statement the Council urged people and organizations, public and private, and all citizens to remain alert to such attacks. It focused on the context of being faithful to cybersecurity requirements, avoiding to click on phishing links, and keeping personal information secure. People were told to stick to the official sources and check the links in emails as fraudsters wait to pounce.

The Council also pointed out the continued spread of Artificial Intelligence tools around the world that may likely to fall into the hands of criminal syndicates and terrorist groups to conduct more and more precise and time-bound attacks on their targets.

Ransomware, which is among the most known threats, can freeze computers and tablets and even encrypt their data, thereby, asking for crypto currency in exchange. Any such attack has led to immense loss in the world and the new generation institutions lose hundreds of millions of dollars per year.
