UAE Tops Global Rankings for Air Transport Infrastructure Quality

The UAE has been ranked number one in the world regarding being having the best quality of air transport infrastructure according to WEF’s TDTD 2024. Further, new statistics revealed that the UAE was the MENA region’s leader in other several factors relating to aviation.

The country stood first in the world in Overall World rank “Quality of Air Transport Infrastructure” and Third in both the “Efficiency of Air Transport Services” and “Available Airline Seat Km – Millions / week. ” By benchmarking the Middle East and North Africa region the UAE ranks the highest in the indicators “Number of Operating Airlines” as well as in “Air Transport Agreements. ”

Elsewhere, the “Global Competitiveness Report 2023”, by the International Institute for Management Development also rated the UAE number one in the “Quality of Air Transport”.

GCAA successfully met all targets: Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and the Chairman of the General Civil Aviation Authority attributed the successful performance to the strategic leadership and the directives focused on development and competitiveness in civil aviation. He stressed on its importance in the affairs of the country’s economy and also complimented on the calibre of such plans by the government that were aimed toward constant investment.

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi who is the Director-General of the GCAA revealed happiness and pride in this achievements pointing at the fact that the civil aviation sector in the UAE is strong, and competitive. Presentations called for collective action by federal and local governmental institutions, national carriers, and sector stakeholders in developing both the facilities and services for air transportation.

This coordinated push has helped strengthen the UAE position as a global travel and tourism gateway, consistent with national ambitions to drive, grow, and coordinate the globe through a worldwide, cohesive, and sustainable aviation network. The GCAA continues to work for enhancing the era of the aviation industry and evolving the UAE’s strategic management of the sector via technology and development to sustain its prestigious standing among the world’s nations.
