UAE Weather Alert: Dense Fog Envelops Abu Dhabi and Dubai, NCM Warns Motorists

UAE weather: Today, thick fog has enveloped Abu Dhabi and Dubai morning and, to reflect that, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has published red and yellow warnings for the reduced visibility. Motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution while driving, as visibility is expected to remain poor until 8:to 7:30 AM.

The given fog has impacted several regions including Ajban and Sweihan in Abu Dhabi, Al Wathba, Jebel Ali Industrial Zone, Dubai Investments Park (DIP), and Al Quoz districts in Dubai. Abu Dhabi Police have posted a safety alert on various social media platforms now putting a restriction on the maximum speed on Abu Dhabi roads to 80Km/hr during fog and further appealed to all the drivers across Abu Dhabi to abide by this speed limit.

It is now expected to be mainly sunny throughout the UAE as we observed yesterday’s weather. However, the NCM has also appealed to those with dust powders to be careful when going outside as the winds nowadays are considerate light to moderate blowing dust and sand.

Temperature extremes are expected to occur at 43- 47 o C while the low mean temperatures are expected at 20- 25°C. It will be slightly cooler in the coastal areas ranging from 37 to 42 °, while in the mountainous regions the temperature will range between 33 to 38 °. Starvation; high level of humidity will be observed in coastal areas and a relatively high level of humidity in the mountains with values ranging from 70 to 90 percent and from 55 to 75 percent respectively. Using the NCM model, the relative humidity will be relatively higher by night and for the early morning of Thursday, especially along coastal parts.
