Dubai Announces Golden Visa for Outstanding Teachers: Application Process and Eligibility

Dubai in the United Arab Emirates is poised to award the Golden Visas to top professionals in the private education sector. This programme recognises teachers, school leaders and academic heads who have exhibited extraordinary effort to improve education in the emirate.

The Golden Visa that allows for 10 years residency is proof of Dubai’s vision for future growth, attracting talented individuals and investment in educators who are the future of Dubai. This is when would-be teachers can apply, and schools, early childhood centers – ECCs, and higher education institutions – HEIs can put forward eligible employees for this honor.

Who Can Apply?

  • School principals and leaders
  • ECC managers
  • Pro Vices, Chancellors, Vice Chancellors, Directors and Principals of colleges and universities
  • Teachers
  • Employees included in this study are full-time faculty and senior administrative staff in HEIs.

 

Eligibility Criteria

For ECC Managers, Principals, and Academic Heads:

  • Qualifications: Professional doctorate, PhD, or master’s degree or relevant academic qualifications.
  • DSIB Rating: School rating raised to ‘Good’ or better by Dubai Schools Inspections Bureau.
  • Research Contributions: Documentary evidence of either published papers or research grant or consultancies done by the applicants.
  • Leadership Impact: Students, parents, as well as staff appreciation, the added contributions from the community.
  • Awards and Recognition: Stakeholders formal recognition of the education awards or any other recognised formal awards of educational pursuance.

For Teachers and Faculty:

  • Qualifications: Postgraduate or the equivalent in skills and expertise including license or certification.
  • Professional Excellence: Appointment by principal and board, demonstration of the student achievement and the progress made towards improved performance.
  • Student Support: To the academic achievement and human social advancement of the students especially the Emirati students and students of determination.
  • Community Contributions: Proving that you are active in the school of in other extra community activities.

Application Process

  • Candidates for the qualified staff must be recommended by their respective schools, ECCs or HEIs.
  • KHDA school ratings, award certificates testimonial and other relevant documents such as evidential reports on involvements in the community are also important.
  • Application will be reviewed by a committee and short-listed applicants will receive their notification from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).

Visa Benefits

The family members of Golden Visa holders can apply for the residency permits for themselves – spouse and children.
