Some of the recent developments include the fact that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has cut processing time for work permits and Residency visas from thirty to five days. This successful result has come after the implementation of the second phase of Work Bundle platform, a work soft-launch involving multiple government ministries and federal authorities. It seeks to help employers to recruit new expatriates easily and also assist those who wish to renew their work permits prematurely.
The first stage which was launched in April this year was initially conducted only in Dubai but now has reached all the seven emirates. The second phase is expected to impact around 600k firms and over 7m employees and the EHS remains focused on improving the business environment. Thirdly, another phase is to expand the platform services to cater for domestic workers, which is currently in the pipeline. , although only reachable through the platform’s webpage today, the Work Bundle mobile application is being prepared for a launch, which will free the service for business and employees even more.
