Disney has a great pan of movie releases lined for 2024 and beyond which can potentially help the company overcome the problems it encountered in the recent years. Here are the highlights for Upcoming Disney Films:
2024 Releases:
- Inside Out 2 (June 14): The upcoming movie will continue Riley’s life and focus on her going through the period of adolescence, and new characters – Anxiety and Envy.
- Moana 2 (November 27): Since this movie leaves us with Moana and Maui back on Motunui, folks have been waiting for this sequel excitedly.
- Mufasa: The Lion King (December 20): A prequel of the original movie made by Barry Jenkins, detailing Mufasa’s rise from being an overlooked sheltered lion to king.
2025 Releases:
- Snow White (March 21): It’s a retelling from Snow White and the Evil Queen with Rachel Zegler, and Gal Gadot, respectively.
- Elio (June 13): Animated movies by Pixar: A boy named Elio left on earth by his alien family to bring an ambassador back home, mistaken for him, voiced by Yonas Kibreab.
- Zootopia 2 (November 26): The sequel to the original, released in 2016, featuring the original cast members Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde.
- Tron: Ares (December 19): Jared Leto orinisin this third part of “Tron” film series as Ares.
2026 and Beyond:
- Toy Story 5 (June 19, 2026): Beverly Hills represents the fourth film for Tim Allen as Buzz and Tom Hanks as Woody for another journey.
- Moana Live-Action Remake (July 10, 2026): There are a few surprises in the live-action remake, including Dwayne Johnson returning for the film as Maui.
- Frozen 3 (2026): About the film cast Josh Gad reprises his role as Olaf with music for the film composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
TBD Releases:
- Bambi: Described below is a notion for a photorealistic CGI continuation which will appeal to the audience of the 21st century.
- Hercules: In the recent release, this classic cartoon from 1997 is transformed to a live-action interpretation under the direction of the talented Guy Ritchie.
- Lilo & Stitch: The live-action remake of the 2002 animated movie, with some of the characters being portrayed by new actors, Maia Kealoha being the newest Hula girl.
- The Aristocats: This new version is a cinematic remake by Spike Jonze, and with Questlove directing, the movie is sure to provide audiences with a kinder side.
