Golf, games and good times officially took centre stage this week as Topgolf was confirmed to be opening a major new venue on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

Miral announced that Topgolf Yas Island was already under construction and is set to open in 2026, marking the brand’s second location in the UAE following the huge success of Topgolf Dubai. Known for blending sport, music, food and social entertainment, Topgolf’s arrival signalled a significant upgrade to Yas Island’s ever-growing leisure offering.

Unlike traditional golf experiences, Topgolf focuses on fun, friendly competition and high-energy atmospheres. Guests don’t need to be seasoned golfers — just ready to swing, relax and enjoy the experience.Topgolf Yas Island Abu Dhabi

A multi-level entertainment destination

Topgolf Yas Island was planned as a three-level venue featuring 82 climate-controlled hitting bays, including eight VIP bays. Each bay would overlook a large outfield equipped with advanced ball-tracking technology, allowing players to see the accuracy and distance of every shot in real time.

The venue was also set to include a virtual reality hitting bay, multiple lounge areas, an event lawn and a fully equipped pro shop. Visitors could expect a wide selection of food and beverage options spread throughout the complex, making it a destination for extended visits rather than quick games.

Upstairs, the development was designed to house a sports and sky lounge with outdoor terraces, an arcade zone and flexible event spaces suitable for birthdays, corporate events and large-scale celebrations.

Building on Topgolf’s UAE success

The Yas Island venue followed the runaway success of Topgolf Dubai, which had welcomed millions of guests and recorded tens of millions of swings since opening. The strong local appetite for experiential entertainment made Abu Dhabi a natural next step for the brand’s expansion.

Commenting on the announcement, Christopher May, Chief Executive Officer at Viya, said the new venue built on the proven success of Topgolf Dubai and reflected a broader commitment to bringing world-class leisure and entertainment destinations to the UAE.

A major boost for Yas Island

With Topgolf joining Yas Island’s line-up of attractions, the destination further cemented its reputation as one of the region’s leading hubs for entertainment, leisure and nightlife. From theme parks and live events to dining and now interactive sports entertainment, Yas Island continued to evolve into a place where visitors could spend an entire day — or night — without running out of things to do.

In short, Abu Dhabi’s future nights out received a very fun upgrade.
