Saudi Arabia is about to dominate travel conversations this April.

From April 17 to April 26, 2026, the AlUla Skies Festival is transforming the desert into a full lineup of hot air balloons, night sky experiences, and live entertainment. This festival is already capturing attention across the region, and travelers are scrambling to plan their visit.

SKYRISE Is The Flagship Moment

The headline experience is SKYRISE, a coordinated sunrise launch where 30 hot air balloons ascend together.

Ten of these balloons carry guests, making access limited and highly sought-after. Visitors are transported from 4-star and 5-star hotels in AlUla for early morning flights over Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. The aerial views of ancient rock formations and tombs are central to the festival’s appeal.

Dark Sky Status Elevates The Nights

AlUla is officially Saudi Arabia’s first certified International Dark Sky Park, making it a prime location for stargazing and night programming.

The festival features astronomy experiences, guided stargazing, and curated night events. Clear desert skies ensure every session delivers a premium viewing experience, keeping the festival buzzing after sunset.

Glow Shows Take Over The Evenings

Hot Air Balloon Glow Shows run on April 17–18 and April 24–25, featuring up to 12 illuminated balloons synchronized with music, projection mapping, and acrobatic performances.

These shows are designed as one of the festival’s standout visual moments, offering attendees a spectacle that’s already trending across social channels.

Maraya Hosts Premium Cinema And Dining

The VOX Moonlight Cinema is set at Maraya, the world’s largest mirrored building, for open-air film screenings.
