Outlined projects will be such as capacity increase, new commercial collaborations, new lounges, transportation area increase, and redoing the distribution of the remote gates’ locations based on Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports.

DXB targets to boost the annual passenger through put from the current 98 million to 120 million, as reported by Arabic daily Emarat Al-Youm.

Currently improving the airport’s facilities, upgrading its equipments, and undertaking new technological projects is a key strategy for us at Dubai airports and I speak on behalf of the Dubai Airports when I say that our ultimate goal is to retain the airport as the number one airport in the whole world,” said Paul Griffiths.

Some of the projects defined will cover things like capacity enhancement, the new commercial outlets, lounges, transportation areas, and repositioning of off-site gates according to Griffiths, the report added.

Dubai International Airport on Route to Become Completely Smart, States CEO

The announced upgrades are to ‘make’ the airport a smart one and enhance the movement of passengers at all the possible contact points.

Giffiths also added that the “strategic objective is to maintain Dubai International Airport guest satisfaction index above a set level as Dubai International Airport grows into Al Maktoum International Airport to become the airport of the future. ”

He said this would occur while developments at Dubai International would give “a template for developing the passenger experience at Al Maktoum International Airport. ”

It will also contribute to attaining a passenger traffic of 120 million per annum to sustain the world’s largest hub in the Dubai International Airport, according to the report.

Dubai International passed the pre-coronavirus demand level of 75 million a year and reached 87 million in this year, which was called the airport’s best year and the ‘fastest major airport recovery’.

It continues to maintain recognition as the airport with the highest passenger traffic for the last 10 years in the world.
