UAE Sends 14 Athletes to Compete in Paris 2024 Olympic Games

The UAE NOC has outlined plans of the Nation for the upcoming paris summer Olympics 2024 that will be held between 26th July and 11th August. There are scheduled to be 10 500 athletes from 200 National Olympic Committees, as well as 32 sports with 329 events in 35 venues.

The athletes’ entourage comprises 14 individuals from the United Arab Emirates who were supported by 24 administrative, technical, and medical persons. The athletes will compete in five sports: show jumping, judo, cycling, swimming, and athletics. The equestrian team which will be involved in show jumping have the following riders: Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi, Abdullah Al Marri, Omar Al Marzouqi, Salem Al Suwaidi, and Ali Al Karbi with the last typing to be conducted shortly.

The judo team includes Narmand Bayan in the 66 kg category/Shvili; Talal in the 81 kg category; Aram Gregorian up to 90 kg; Dhafer Aram up to 100 kg; Omar Marouf above 100 kg; and female fighter Bashirat bn Kharoudi up to 52 kg. Safia Al Sayegh will be participating in cyclist, thus becoming the first and only Emirati female qualifier for the Olympics. Among of them, Yousef Rashid Al Matroushi for 100m freestyle and Maha Abdullah Al Shehi for 200m freestyle. Athlete Maryam Mohammed Al Farsi will be participating in the 100 meters race event.

Omar Al Marzouqi specific achievement includes being privileged to bear the UAE flag during the ceremony carried out on the 26 th of July for the first time on the Seine River with 160 boats.

Faris Mohammed Al Mutawaa the secretary general of the NOC posted his thanks to H. H Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the support. He congratulated the athletes and federations for their sincere endeavour in the past four years and also remained assured of UAE representatives to succeed.

Al Mutawaa also revealed the launching of the UAE House in Paris which is a reference to the emirate’s arts and civilization. It will be opened every day from July 27 till August 11 The UAE House will include a hospitality that will allow people to feel the UAE and getting acquainted with the development of the state.

Competing in any Olympics is a dream of any nation and UAE wouldn’t compromise its dream of hosting that flag high in future Olympics especially Paris 2024.
