Drivers in Dubai are having what can be described as a golden ticket to have those infamous black points on their license removed through a new government move. In the framework of the next Accident Free Day to be held on November 28, 2011, the drivers can have four black points cancelled on their records on condition that they perform several operations.
The licence holders with more than 24 black points are in danger of a driving ban; therefore, such initiative will be quite useful for them. The best part? The programme is very simple to take part.
In the present year, Accident Free Day is to be observed on Monday 26th August according to a notice given in the Ministry of the Interior. However, for motorists to benefit from this opportunity; they are required to register their commitment for the traffic safety pledge prior to this special day. This campaign is simple: follow the pledge, which details everyday road safety measures, and if you do, four black points will be deducted from your licence on 14 September.

Stay at least four seconds behind the vehicle in front of you.
Give way to pedestrians if you are at crossings.
Always wear your seatbelt.
Adhere to speed limits.
Do not drove while using a handheld mobile phone.
The vehicles to yield to include emergency and police vehicles, public service vehicles and official convoys.
This particular pledge is quite straightforward, and it makes perfect sense averting pressure on the drivers, thus providing them with an excellent chance of a cleaner record on the road.
