Dubai Air Taxis that have been in development for quite some time in Dubai will begin their operational service in the first three months of 2026 as part of the city’s AAM plans. Dubai’s RTA transport will start with the operation of Joby Aviation-powered taxis that will provide a new transportation system to Dubai.
These air taxis are to be envisaged for a pilot and four passengers, and is expected to cruise at 320km/h. The most expected line is the one connecting Dubai International Airport (DXB) with Palm Jumeirah which will take only 10-12 minutes while it will take approximately 45 minutes by car. The service will start at four initial vertiports namely DXB Airport, Palm Jumeirah, Marina and Downtown.
Al Awadhi unveiled the plans during the ITS World Congress and Exhibition that was held in Dubai and this is an event that highlighted on the future of transport in different countries across the world. The call is viewed as an unprecedented shift in the process of implementing drone delivery with autonomous air transport to link important parts of Dubai particularly hotels and the airport to provide for better, safe and fast movements.
In collaboration with Skyports Infrastructure and Joby Aviation the RTA is actively preparing for the smooth start of this innovative project that will provide the citizens and guests of Dubai with a science fiction like travel experience above the city’s skyline. It goes hand in hand with Dubai’s continued support towards innovation and advancement of technology in transport solutions.
