Dubai is where you go when you're in pursuit of thrills over chill. Beyond the luxury shopping malls and beach clubs, the city is packed with adrenaline-fuelled activities that push the limits of what "fun" even means. Would you rather fly, drop, or free-fall? Here are three world-class adrenaline adventures in Dubai you can experience right now.
The Storm Coaster — Dubai Hills Mall
Only in Dubai can you combine a shopping trip with a Guinness World Record. The Storm Coaster at Dubai Hills Mall is officially the world's fastest stationary vertical-launch rollercoaster, using electromagnetic LSM (Linear Synchronous Motor) propulsion to shoot riders skyward at 41 km/h before hitting a top speed of 77 km/h across 670 metres of track.
The ride spans three floors of the mall, lasts just over two minutes, and delivers vertical drops, sharp inversions, and high G-forces that leave you breathless. It officially opened in February 2022 and has been a bucket-list staple ever since.
Opening hours: Sun–Thu 10 am–11 pm | Fri–Sat 10 am–12 am Phone: (04) 448 5016
XLine Dubai Marina — Urban Zipline
For a different kind of aerial rush, the XLine Dubai Marina is the world's longest, steepest, and fastest urban zipline. Perched 170 metres in the air and stretching one kilometre across the Marina, the ride hits speeds over 80 km/h as you soar Superman-style past glittering skyscrapers and waterfront yachts.
The full experience, including briefing and equipment fitting, takes around 25 minutes. Participants must be aged 12–65 and weigh between 45–100 kg.
Location: XLine desk, Dubai Marina Mall (Level P) Operating hours: Wed–Mon, 09:20–11:20 and 15:20–18:20 Price: From AED 699 (adult solo) Phone: +056 507 6366
Leap of Faith — Aquaventure Waterpark, Atlantis The Palm
No list of adrenaline adventures in Dubai is complete without the Leap of Faith. This nine-storey waterslide at Aquaventure Waterpark launches riders from 27.5 metres and accelerates them to nearly 60 km/h — straight through a transparent tunnel submerged in a live shark lagoon.
The slide is part of Aquaventure's iconic Mayan-temple tower complex. Riders must be at least 120 cm tall. The surrounding Aquaventure park is one of the largest water parks in the world, so budget a full day.
Location: Atlantis The Palm Hours: Weekdays 9 am–6 pm (check atlantis.com for seasonal variations) Entry: From AED 350 Phone: +971 4 426 0000
