Sponsored Content Policy
When a business or organisation pays Dubai.News to publish an article, video or other feature, readers should be able to tell who paid for it and how the sponsor was involved. This policy applies whether the sponsor supplies the material or Dubai.News produces it as part of a paid partnership.
How to recognise sponsored content
We label paid material clearly, using wording such as “Sponsored Content” or “Paid Partnership”, and name the sponsor near the beginning of the piece. If a sponsor provided a product, service or hosted experience in exchange for coverage, we explain what it provided.
We publish sponsored content only in our labelled partner or sponsored area. We keep it out of our news sections and news feed and do not submit it to Google News.
We automatically mark links in sponsored content with rel="sponsored" so search engines can identify them as paid links rather than editorial recommendations.
What sponsorship pays for
Sponsorship pays for the agreed placement. Our editors decide independently which stories the newsroom covers, which sources it consults and what it publishes. A sponsor cannot buy a favourable review, require separate news coverage or approve the newsroom’s reporting about it. These standards are set out in our Editorial Policy.
Disclosure of related interests
If Dubai.News, its operator, a staff member or a related company has a commercial interest in the subject of an article, we identify who holds that interest and explain the connection in the article itself. This applies to award announcements, brand features and coverage of our own group. For example, if a related company organises an award we cover, the article names the organiser and explains its relationship to Dubai.News.
Accuracy and corrections
An editor reviews sponsored material before publication. Factual claims must be supportable, and we attribute a sponsor’s opinions to the sponsor. Sponsored material must meet the requirements of this policy and comply with applicable UAE media and advertising rules.
If you spot a factual error or an unclear disclosure, email info@dubai.news with the link to the piece and a brief description of the concern so our editors can review it.
