Who owns Dubai.News, how we are funded, and the ethical rules our journalists and editors work by.
Independence only means something if you can see how it is protected. This page sets out who is behind Dubai.News, how we make our money, and the ethical standards that govern our work.
Ownership
Dubai.News is published by an independent media group founded by Sheeraz Hasan, an entrepreneur known for bridging global media, the UAE, and international audiences. We are not owned or controlled by a government body or political organisation.
How we are funded
Our revenue comes from advertising, sponsorship, and editorial partnerships. No advertiser, sponsor, or partner has any say over our editorial decisions. Sponsored and partner content is clearly labelled and kept separate from the newsroom.
Conflicts of interest
• Our journalists do not accept gifts beyond nominal value, paid travel, or hospitality that could be seen to influence coverage.
• They do not hold financial interests in companies they cover, and they declare any personal or financial relationship that could be perceived as a conflict.
• Where an owner, staff member, sponsor, or contributor has a stake in a story, we disclose it within the article.
• We do not pay sources, and we do not let access or advertising relationships shape what we report.
AI and accountability
Dubai.News uses AI in its newsroom, and a human editor is accountable for everything we publish. We disclose this openly because transparency about how news is made is part of acting ethically. The full account is in our AI content policy.
Masthead
Editorial responsibility sits with the Dubai.News editorial team. Our writers and editors, with their bios and published work, are listed on our authors page.
Holding us to account
If you think we have fallen short of these standards, tell us. Email info@dubai.news, or use our corrections process for factual errors.
