The United Arab Emirates has committed $200,000 for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Refugee Programme for 2025. This was made during the annual UNHCR pledging conference for refugees where countries and organizations review their commitments on assisting refugees around the world.

Thank You to the UAE
UN Refugee Chief and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi thanked the UAE for its consistent support and its funding. He commended the nation’s sustained activism in responding to the difficulties of refugee’s across the world.

Humanitarian Principles being Practiced in UAE
Stating its continued commitment to the operations of UNHCR, the UAE’s Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva Jamal Al Musharakh said. ”As we stand with UNHCR today we recommit ourselves to humanitarian better principles of humanity and dignity for all people,” he said.

What was important at the pledging conference
The idea of UNHCR Pledging Conference is an annual practice based on the decision of the UN General Assembly aimed at the declaration of voluntary financing to maintain international refugee assistance. Donations, such as the UAE example, guarantee the sustainability of critical actions to save millions of refugees and displaced people worldwide.

The participation of the UAE is to underscore its commitment as a reliable member of the international community, interested in the fate of distressed individuals and groups and ready to support International solidarity.
