Hayley Atwell is reportedly stepping back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Agent Peggy Carter in Avengers: Doomsday. I was able to get some inside information that Atwell would be starring in the still to be named Marvel film which could have Chris Evans as Steve Rogers. This movie is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo — these heroes were reunited by Marvel’s President, Kevin Feige.
While Marvel has not officially commented on the casting news, Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on may 1 2026. As for the plot, we fans are kept in the dark, but the spectacular chemistry between Chris Evans’ Rogers and Scarlett Johansson’s Carter reprising on the big screen is already a thing.
Toy talks concerning the possible return of Evans and Atwell to the MCU emerged in 2021 raising hope that the two may well feature in a black standalone film. Although those plans were not realized, they are now seem to make a perfect sense in this new Avengers installment.
Hayley Atwell, known for her exceptional portrayal of Peggy Carter, has been a fan-favorite since her debut in Captain America: The First Avenger. Outside of the MCU, Atwell is set to reprise her role as Grace in Mission: The asymmetrical electronic project Impossible – Final Reckoning is planned for May.
Fans can expect more details as the production moves forward, but one thing is certain—Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday teases the long awaited coming back of two mega superheroes and an epic movie.
