After the consultations with the relevant stakeholders, the official working calendar of UAE Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation lately confirmed that Wednesday, January 1, 2025, is going to be an official paid day off for private sector workers. Operations will continue tomorrow Thursday January 2 as a result of the public holidays.
This announcement is equal to good news for workers and will allow them to rest and welcome the new year. Everyone has been looking forward to it and now those in the private industry can too take off from work and revel with the rest of the city.
When it comes to New Year celebrations, there are no shortage of thrilling activities in Dubai, with Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab among the most famous cities’ sights that are chosen as the background of the famous firework shows. Further, for people who would be in the city on New Year’s day, there are many brunches, lunches and over one hundred and something exciting things to do.
The UAE Cabinet has already confirmed the holiday schedule for 2025, which includes:
- New Year’s Day: January 1, 2025
- Eid Al Fitr: March 31 – April 2, 2025
- Arafat Day: May 30, 2025
- Eid Al Adha: May 31 – June 2, 2025
- Islamic New Year: June 27, 2025
- The Prophet Mohammed’s Birthday: September 1, 2025
- National Day: December 2-3, 2025
While some dates are fixed, some are subject to moon sighting.”
