New details have emerged about the Harry Potter land coming to Abu Dhabi's Warner Bros. World, giving fans a clearer picture of what could become the region's most exciting theme park attraction. The project was first announced in 2022 and will be located inside Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi on Yas Island, one of the world's largest indoor theme parks.
Once completed, it will be the first Harry Potter-themed land in the Middle East — and the first theme park anywhere on the planet to feature both Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley within a single land.
Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley Planned for Abu Dhabi
The expansion is expected to include some of the most recognisable locations from the Harry Potter universe, based on reports and planning documents.
Hogwarts Castle will serve as the centrepiece of the land, housing the area's flagship ride. Visitors will also be able to explore Diagon Alley, the famous wizarding shopping street filled with magical shopfronts and immersive experiences.
A fourth themed area under consideration is the Forbidden Forest (also referred to in some reports as the Dark Forest), which could feature magical creatures and atmospheric environments inspired by the woodland surrounding Hogwarts.
Three New Rides in a 40,000-Square-Metre Indoor Space
The Harry Potter land at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is expected to include three brand-new rides spread across roughly 40,000 square metres (430,000 square feet) of fully indoor space.
Construction permits confirm plans for a Harry Potter Castle ride, a Diagon Alley area, and a ride themed to the Forbidden Forest. Additional experiences being considered include:
- Interactive wand experiences - Potion-making workshops - Broomstick-style rides - A Hogwarts Express-themed attraction
Wizarding World Food and Dining
The park is expected to feature themed dining and snack options inspired by the wizarding world. Fans may be able to enjoy butterbeer, chocolate frogs, Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, and Cornish pasties, along with other iconic foods from the series.
Entirely Indoors for Year-Round Visits
Like the rest of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, the Harry Potter-themed land will be fully indoors — allowing visitors to enjoy the attractions even during the UAE's hot summer months.
Pam Lifford, President of Global Brands and Experiences at Warner Bros. Discovery, previously said the Wizarding World offers something magical for fans of all ages. The themed land aims to bring the beloved stories and characters to life through immersive storytelling, rides, and experiences.
Opening Date Yet to Be Confirmed
The expansion is part of a massive 2–3 billion AED ($545–816 million) construction package, which also includes retail outlets and food and beverage facilities. Construction is reportedly already underway adjacent to the existing park structure.
While an official opening date has not yet been announced, the project is expected to open in either 2027 or 2028. The park will become the seventh theme park worldwide to feature Harry Potter attractions — and the first not operated by Universal Studios.
