The city of Dubai undergoes continuous changes so people who live there and visit should keep track of the five essential updates coming in May 2025. The following five major changes are taking place throughout Dubai during this current month.
1. Global Village Season Ends
Summer closures began for the popular Dubai attraction Global Village in its 29th season. The multicultural destination which provides global food entertainment shopping space will close Season 29 on Sunday, May 11. The establishment functions every day from 4pm through midnight during weekdays while extending its operating hours to 1am on weekends. Visitors should take advantage of this time period before it closes down.
2. Changes to 14 Bus Routes and a New Route to Sharjah
From Friday May 2 the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will execute alterations to 14 bus routes to enhance travel convenience throughout the city area. On the same day the new Dubai to Sharjah intercity bus service will commence operation while passengers will experience enhanced travel benefits thanks to modern bus systems.
3. Petrol Prices Updated and CAFU Adds Fees
The UAE petroleum price review leads to new May rates which will become public on April 30. The price changes implemented by the authority will begin on May 1. The fuel delivery service CAFU will begin charging Dubai customers for the first time since 2020.
4. Beginning May 5 WhatsApp will cease operations on iOS 15.0 or previous versions of the iPhone operating system.
As of May 5, WhatsApp service will cease operation for all iPhones operating on iOS 15.0 or below versions including the iPhone 5s as well as iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The software update targets both performance upgrades and technology compatibility.
