AI Drives the Future of Content Creation at 1 Billion Followers Summit

The 1 Billion Followers Summit that took place from January the 11th to the 13th of 2025 in Dubai focused on artificial intelligence’s role for change in the content creation market. Many of the speakers included Google, YouTube, Meta, and Duolingo, and the keynote of the discussions was focused on the impact of AI on digital media.

The summit being organized under the theme “Content for Good” was attended by over 15,000 content creators, 420 speakers, 125 CEOs, and other global experts at Emirates Towers, DIFC, and Museum of the Future. The event discussed how AI can help creative industries achieve more innovation and drive change around the world.

YouTube: AI as a Creativity Partner

During the session entitled YouTube’s Guide to The Future of Content Creation & AI, Tarek Amin who is the Regional Director for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey pointed out that ultra short videos are becoming more popular.

“AI should complement creative processes not subjugate it,” Amin stressed. He also announced that YouTube will be conducting other workshops in future to assist the content creators to harness on the AI technology in a rightful manner so as to uphold its support to local talent.

Meta: Making AI Accessible for All

During a session called Reimagining The Future of AI with Meta many people heard from Fares Akkad, Meta’s Regional Director for MENA, regarding the company’s plans to make AI tools available to the public.

“The effective deployment of a solution is in the near future of widely-spread and self-augmenting AI tools,” added Akkad pointing to Meta’s continued research and development of visible AI and VR for subject populations and communities worldwide.

Duolingo: Interactivity for Innovation

At Duolingo right now, we have about 8 million followers across all our social media accounts – and our Senior Global Social Media Manager, Zaria Parvez, has been kind enough to share with you now how this social media management works at Duolingo, which has an AI-based gaming environment.
