Sheikh Hamdan Opens Dubai AI Week 2025, Calling AI Readiness a Key Measure of Government Success

The Dubai AI Week 2025 launch took place under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who steered the official kickoff as Crown Prince of Dubai and chairman of Dubai Future Foundation. Sheikh Hamdan made it clear that AI adoption by governments would define their success in reaching their strategic missions while upholding community welfare.

At the inaugural AI Retreat of the five-day program Sheikh Hamdan stated: “We currently find ourselves in an essential developmental phase during which we aim to establish Dubai as one of the leading global cities devoted to technological transformation.” The leader emphasized how Artificial Intelligence should become a strategic tool to develop both the economy and society in order to create Dubai’s future orientation.

Through closed roundtables at the Museum of the Future more than 150 international experts and officials discussed data governance and digital infrastructure and investment and talent development. The event explored effective policies and strategies which aimed to achieve maximum AI advantages across different critical sectors.

From April 21 to 25 the Dubai AI Week 2025 features the Dubai Assembly for AI together with the Global Prompt Engineering Championship as well as the AI Innovations Conference and Machines Can See summit and Hackathon: Agentic AI. Various activities are happening at AREA 2071 and different educational facilities throughout the emirate.

Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence together with the Dubai Future Foundation organize this event under the support of strategic partners DEWA and Dubai Digital Authority and the AI Office of the UAE Government. International technology corporations such as Meta and Microsoft as well as OpenAI and NVIDIA and IBM and Google take part in this event.
