UAE Students Urged to Verify Degree Recognition Amid New Ministry Guidelines

Students undergoing higher education studies or online courses in the UAE need to monitor the accreditation policy updates from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) to prevent future academic issues. The ministry does not accept vocational certificates or specialized training courses yet provides conditional verification for specific distance learning programs.

Experts Advise Students to Stay Informed
Education consultants inform students to check the accreditation status of a university before attending any classes. Varun Jain who serves as CEO of UniHawk recommends that students should:

Check official ministry updates regularly.
Students must check accreditation because it shows that the UAE Ministry of Education has approved the foreign institution.
For degree verification students should trust Dataflow and QuadraBay because they operate as authorized agencies.
Students should consider learning formats that merge online instruction with classroom attendance since this combination meets the requirements for ministry recognition.
The flexibility and cost effectiveness of online learning have important drawbacks because students lose access to global exposure together with the opportunity to network and gain practical skills offered by typical university education.

Vocational Certificates Not Recognized
MOHESR noted that vocational training programs alongside brief certificates beyond formal academic curriculums will stay unrecognized by the ministry. This includes:

Certificates from short courses.
Degrees from international student-only programmes.
Recognition for academic documents occurs only when linked to extended study programs.
Rema Menon Vellat along with other experts advocate that schools together with KHDA and ADEK and additional education bodies must thoroughly distribute vital information to minimize enrollment of unrecognized courses.

Renewed Accreditation for Some Universities
A few UAE educational establishments received fresh accreditation awards for their undergraduate programs from the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA). Dr. The knowledge economy of the UAE requires sustained academic excellence according to Dr Sameera Al Mulla who leads CAA because it produces qualified graduates ready for professional careers.

Students must double down on their selection of recognized programs now for their degrees to maintain employment value within the UAE market.
