Netflix Enters the Snack Scene with New Popcorn Line at Walmart

Netflix is expanding its consumer business by entering the popcorn market, partnering with Popcorn Indiana to launch a line of popcorn under the brand name “Netflix: It’s finally here – Now Popping. ” This new line of snacks are to be sold in Walmart stores around the country from today.

They will range from Trademark Buttery Popcorn, Cult Classic Cheddar Kettle Corn, Swoonworthy Cinnamon Kettle Corn, Arabian Nights Sweet Popcorn, and Crazy Chic Toddy Corn among others intending to emulate a cinematic experience of snacking to the users of Netflix.

This is the recent move by Netflix as they expand beyond the streaming service in a bid to find more sources of income. The firm is trying to grow consumer and live events segment, and the same year of 2021, introduced an online merchandise store while developing live experiences from Netflix movies or television series, including Bridgerton or Squid Game.

The sponsorship with Popcorn Indiana and Walmart recapitulates similar moves that numerous entertainment companies have taken. Thus, in 2021, it began entering a new food segment, launching its line of popcorn and select AMC Theatres popcorn available at Walmart.

Other than snack, Netflix continues to experiment with different consumer experiences; Netflix Bites, a sort of Netflix endorsed restaurant in Los Angeles and planned Netflix House at Texas and Pennsylvania. These sites will integrate watching, eating, and playing or shopping, thus ensuring Netflix a steady foothold in the consumer market outside of TV shows and movies.
