Netflix is now in the popcorn business. The streaming giant has partnered with Popcorn Indiana to launch a branded ready-to-eat popcorn line called Netflix: Now Popping, available at Walmart stores across the United States starting today.
What Flavors Are in the Netflix Popcorn Line?
The "Now Popping" range launches with five varieties designed to recreate a cinematic snacking experience at home:
- Trademark Buttery Popcorn - Cult Classic Cheddar Kettle Corn - Swoonworthy Cinnamon Kettle Corn - Arabian Nights Sweet Popcorn - Crazy Chic Toddy Corn
The partnership with Popcorn Indiana — a well-established American snack brand — gives Netflix instant retail credibility and wide Walmart distribution from day one.
Netflix's Growing Consumer Products Push
The Netflix popcorn launch at Walmart is part of a deliberate strategy to build revenue streams beyond subscription streaming. Netflix has been steadily expanding its consumer and live events business since opening an official online merchandise store in 2021, which sells branded apparel, collectibles, and products tied to hit shows like Bridgerton and Squid Game.
On the food side, Netflix previously partnered with Ben & Jerry's in 2020 on "Netflix & Chilll'd" ice cream, and opened Netflix Bites — a pop-up restaurant in Los Angeles in 2023 — where menus were inspired by the streamer's original programming.
The Popcorn Indiana tie-up echoes a similar move Disney made in 2021, when it launched a line of popcorn through select AMC Theatres and Walmart.
Netflix House: Physical Entertainment Venues Coming Soon
Beyond snacks, Netflix is building out permanent physical venues. The company has announced Netflix House locations at King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and Dallas, Texas — both exceeding 100,000 square feet and combining food and beverage, immersive attractions, live performances, and retail. A Las Vegas location is planned for 2027.
These venues, alongside the popcorn deal, reflect Netflix's ambition to establish a lasting presence in consumers' daily lives — well beyond the television screen.
