Roblox Launches Arabic Version Amid Rapid Growth in MENA

The introduction of Arabic language support at Roblox makes the platform accessible to millions of Arabic users who reside in the UAE and Saudi Arabia along with Qatar and throughout the MENA region. Roblox CEO David Baszucki presented the news during the World Governments Summit in Dubai.

Baszucki declared that Roblox strives to connect one billion users using positivity and respect so the platform must remain available to everyone. Our excitement grows as we expand our community base in the UAE and MENA region because we added support for the Arabic language.

Roblox’s MENA Expansion
Users from the region now can enjoy Roblox through its Arabic version on all platforms including desktop, mobile devices with iOS and Android operating systems, PlayStation consoles and Xbox devices. Roblox continues to expand globally as it now supports Arabic questions and others among 16 different languages on its platform.

The Middle Eastern and North African portion of Roblox experienced significant growth during the period from Q3 2021 through Q3 2024 because daily active user numbers and total engagement duration both reached 80% and 76% growth in key areas like UAE and Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

As of 2024 statistics show that Roblox achieved Apple’s Apple’s App Store position as the second most-preferred game app and Google Play position as the fifth most-downloaded game.

Enhanced User Experience
Game creators benefit from automatic Arabic translation tools because these enable them to easily turn their content playable by Arabic speakers while maintaining an immersive gameplay experience. The related text chat filtering technology of Roblox has moved to Arabic operation for blocks of inappropriate content which provides better security and moderation.

Economic Impact in the UAE
A Roblox-Access Partnership research study demonstrated the positive economic influence of the platform on the United Arab Emirates sectors. During 2024 the digital economy received a 55% increase in GDP from Roblox in Central and Eastern Europe which highlighted the industry’s sustainable development.
