Dubai Set for Four-Day Weekend for Eid Al Adha 2025

Dubai residents will enjoy a longer weekend from Sunday to Thursday as Eid Al Adha 2025 is a big four-day holiday in the UAE. Expected in early June, the holiday provides everyone with an anticipated chance to take an extended break.

In the Islamic Hijri Calendar, Arafat Day on the ninth of Dhu Al Hijjah marks the start of the Eid Al Adha holiday which goes on until Dhu Al Hijjah 12. Exact dates will be set according to the lunar calendar, but early forecasts say the school break will likely last from Thursday, June 5 to Sunday, June 8.

If the moon is seen later, the festival may start on Friday, June 6 and finish on June 9. Either way, Dubai residents are given a four-day weekend for Christmas.

Because months on the Hijri calendar may be 29 or 30 days, the day for Eid Al Adha changes each year. When the moon sightings are confirmed, UAE authorities typically make the announcement almost before the day begins.

In the UAE, thanks to the public holiday law from 2025, all public holidays can be transferred to the first or final days of the week if they fall on a weekend except for Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha. No matter when they occur on the calendar, these two religious holidays are celebrated.

In the UAE, the government gives everyone four vacation days around Eid Al Adha so they can celebrate, join in trips or take time to rest.

People living in the region should check for official information in June to find out when the lockdown will officially start. Despite when the final dates are, Eid Al Adha 2025 will likely give visitors a chance to relax during a long weekend in Dubai.
