As the Eid Al Adha 2025 holiday gets near, public authorities in the region are declaring official days off. According to moon sighting, astronomers say that Eid will begin on Friday, June 6, 2025. Here’s what we know about the holidays so far.
Oman
Eid Al Adha will begin on Friday, June 6 and Dhul Hijjah will start on Wednesday, May 28, in the Sultanate. Arafah Day will be on Thursday, June 5 and the Eid festivities will begin the next day, Friday, June 6.
Qatar
This year’s Arafah Day on Thursday, June 5, will begin a five-day break for Qataris. Since the public holiday covers the Eid weekend, everyone will enjoy a longer time to celebrate.
Kuwait
According to the Cabinet, all government institutions in Kuwait will be closed from June 5 to June 9, with work starting again on June 10. The Al Ojairi Scientific Center expects Eid Al Adha to occur on Friday, June 6.
What Happened in the UAE?
The UAE has not declared the exact dates, but we expect that Eid will last from Thursday, June 5, until Sunday, June 8. If a holiday occurs on a weekend, it will not be made up on another day. The UAE Cabinet says that public holidays that take place on weekends should not be postponed.
So if you’re planning something fun over Eid, add it to your schedule, but accept that confirmation is needed closer to the holiday. More schedules are expected to be announced by additional countries.
