UAE Announces First Day of Eid Al Fitr 2025

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Presidential Court has made Sunday March 30, 2025 the initial day people will celebrate Eid Al Fitr. The UAE Presidential Court made the Eid Al Fitr date announcement after official verification of the Shawwal crescent during Saturday evening March 29 which closed the Ramadan fasting period.

The UAE moon-sighting committee signed off on Saturday, March 29 as the final day of Ramadan 1446 AH to signal Eid activities beginning on the next day.

The member nations of Gulf Cooperation Council released their official dates which coincide with Eid Al Fitr.
Several member nations from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have publicized both Eid Al Fitr dates.

Eid celebrations in Saudi Arabia Kuwait and Qatar will take place on the same day which is Sunday March 30 following the UAE tradition.

Eid falls on March 31 in Oman because moon sighting specialists expect to see the crescent moon on the evening of Sunday.

The Islamic religious celebration of Eid Al Fitr serves as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast” to denote Ramadan’s conclusion which stands as Islam’s most sacred month. The special holiday includes special prayers while residents gather with family and share feasts in addition to performing charitable acts.

Resident of the UAE now receive a four-day holiday for their private sector employment as the public sector holiday dates have been confirmed by the government creating sustained celebration opportunities.
