Dubai Culture Opens Call for 13th Sikka Art & Design Festival Participation

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) invited artists and designers for the 13th exhibition of Sikka Art & Design Festival, will be from 31st January – 9th February 2025 at Al Shindagha Historic Neighbourhood. Organised in partnership with Dubai Culture, the festival is under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, the event sees local Emirati artists and designers, together with UAE & GCC based ones, presenting their creations.

The festival will encompass all forms of art such as visual art, painting, sculpture, photography, designs, murals, multimedia, and culinary art Consequently, the event will incorporate painting and sculpture ghettos, movie and musical downloads, discussion sessions aimed to enrich local movement and culture in support of ground art trends.

Benötigte Anträge zur teilnahme werden ab dem 8. august gestellt und müssen bis zum 8. Oktober eingereicht sein. All works submitted shall be reviewed by a committee of experts in order to choose some of the best but most importantly those pieces that express innovative thoughts, those works that have been done with environmentally sensitive materials and those that have not been exhibited before. Anyone who runs or intends to organize a festival of arts or who already is an artist of any sorts – solo or group, professional or amateur – can apply.

This event correlates to the heart of Dubai’s cultural strategy, which is gearing the emirate toward becoming a global city for culture, nurturing talents and creativity. The fourth festival was opening in the year 2010, and the 12th festival successfully reached more than 162,000 visitors and it was participated by more than 500 artists with around 300 artworks in 14 houses in Al Shindagha Historic Neighbourhood.
