Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has launched the Sikka Art Festival 2025 open call, inviting Emirati and UAE & GCC-based artists and designers to participate in the 13th edition of Sikka Art & Design Festival. The event runs from January 31 to February 9, 2025, at Al Shindagha Historic Neighbourhood in Dubai.
Sikka Art Festival 2025 Open Call Details
The open call opened on August 8, 2024, with a submission deadline of October 8, 2024. All submitted works are reviewed by a panel of expert judges who select pieces based on innovative ideas, use of environmentally friendly materials, and works that have not previously been exhibited.
The festival is held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture.
Who Can Apply
The 13th Sikka Art Festival is open to solo and group participants — whether professional or amateur — including:
- Visual artists, painters, sculptors, and photographers - Designers and muralists - Multimedia and culinary artists - Workshop facilitators, musical performers, and filmmakers
Both individual and group applications are welcome, and participants do not need to be professionals to apply.
What the Festival Will Feature
The 13th edition will encompass all major art forms, including visual art, painting, sculpture, photography, design, murals, multimedia, and culinary art. The programme will also include interactive workshops, cinematic and musical performances, and discussion sessions aimed at enriching the local cultural movement.
A Proven Platform for UAE Artists
The Sikka Art & Design Festival first launched in 2010, and has grown into one of the UAE's most prominent annual cultural events. The 12th edition drew more than 162,000 visitors and featured over 500 artists presenting around 300 artworks across 14 houses in Al Shindagha Historic Neighbourhood.
The festival aligns directly with Dubai's broader cultural strategy to position the emirate as a global destination for culture, creativity, and talent development.
