Emirates and S.L. Benfica Extend Partnership Until 2029 in Record-Breaking Deal

The current sponsorship link between the two organizations will continue to the next five seasons, making the duration of the partnership 2029. This renewal, therefore, represents a new chapter and a major achievement in their partnership which has been outstanding based on commitment to excellence dating back over a decade the partnership has been running.

The partnership between Emirates and SL Benfica began in 2014 when the airline became the Official Airline Partner of the club and by 2015 the airline branding was worshipped on the shirt of Benfica. The new contract is the longest and most important contract in Benfica’s history, the Fly Better branding will remain on Benfica’s shirt logos. This extension also shows Emirates and Benfica’s desire to explore the limits and aim higher.

Boutros Boutros, who is the Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications, Marketing, and Brand at the airline said, “Our association with Benfica would mean a way to enhance fan experience, not just limited to the country of Portugal but around the world, at the same time, it also shows our long-term interest that we have always had for Portugal, where the airline has been actively servicing for over a decade now. ”

Sporting Lisbon is other impactful football club of Portugal that has English speaking fans and 2014/2015 Portuguese league champions and four-time consecutive Portuguese champions were established in 1906. Having fans in excess of 50 million and considered regular in UEFA Champions League, Benfica is preparing to play for FIFA’s Club World Cup in 2025. Benfica’s home stadium: Luz Stadium — is still popular among fans from all corners of the world.

Campaigning for the renewal, Rui Costa, President of S. L. Benfica had this to say: “It is marvelous to continue the relationship with such a giant company like Emirates.
We are confident and looking forward to many terrific events with such a company that personifies class and excellence and this renewal signifies the kind of success we have always envisioned for this partnership and I am sure, many more are to follow. ”

In today’s world, Emirates has 14 weekly flights to Lisbon and has transported more than 2. 6 million passengers since its operation in the PT country .
