Salem Saleh Wins Gold at 2024 Biel International Chess Festival’s Challengers Triathlon

UAE national team and Sharjah Cultural Chess Club’s Grandmaster Salem Abdul Rahman Saleh won the gold medal in the first edition of the Challengers Triathlon in the 2024 Biel International Chess Festival. Saleh performed great in 22 games; in total he got 35. 5 points, 9 points in Blitz, 6 in the Rapid, and 20. 5 in Classical.

The event was the Challengers Triathlon and had two segments. In Section A there were five classical games, five games with the colors reversed, and ten blitz games played in double round-robin. In Section B, the first four players from Section A played classical time control games addressing their opponents with the opposite color.
