When it came to focus areas for building future readiness, some of the key areas of investment identified included artificial intelligence, digital identity solutions, and predictive control systems. One topic that has emerged clearly is that of the airports trying to make themselves smarter and capable of adapting to a variety of aspects such as security or energy use.

At the same time, DroneShield introduced AI-based countermeasures such as the SensorFusion AI and the RF detection, designed to guard airports from an increasingly prevalent threat to aviation.

IDEMIA revealed its multimodal biometric identity solutions for integrated face and iris scans that increase the speed and security of the passenger and baggage processing. Indeed, digital identity was identified as one of the crucial elements for future airports.
