Air India Express Enhances Baggage Allowance and Expands Routes

Tata Group’s Air India Express delivers fresh travel benefits to passengers on UAE and Middle East flights. The airline now offers all passengers flying to specific routes 30kg free checked baggage and 7kg of free cabin baggage starting today.

Enhanced Baggage Benefits
Passengers traveling with babies get a bonus 10kg of free checked baggage which raises their total to 47kg. Every traveler must bring both a laptop bag and a backpack into the airplane since they must go under the seat.

Users who select Xpress Lite fares receive discounted rates plus 3kg of free personal bags when flying. For a lower cost passengers can make extra luggage reservations during a later booking stage. Business travelers who choose Xpress Biz flights can pack up to 40kg worth of luggage on their international trips because of their flexibility needs.

The Company Increased Its Route Coverage and Destination Options
Air India Express runs 450 regular flights between India and the Middle East while serving 19 cities across India to 13 regional destinations. The airline is building up its flight network to serve more than fifty destinations. The updated schedule includes Bangkok and Phuket for Thailand alongside expanded routes to Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Dammam, and Muscat starting February 4, 2025.

Catering to a Large Diaspora
People choose the UAE-India air route as their preferred flight path more than any other in the world and use it millions of times each year. The UAE draws 3.8 million people with Indian roots who call it their home. They represent 80% of the country’s foreign population by living mainly across Dubai and the Northern Emirates with a smaller portion concentrated in Abu Dhabi.

These updates show that Air India Express wants to make flying easier for passengers and respond to higher demand between India and the UAE. New baggage rules and flight destination additions enable travelers more flexibility to choose their route which keeps Air India Express dominant in its regional market sector.
