Tata Group's Air India Express has boosted the Air India Express baggage allowance for passengers on UAE and Middle East flights. All travelers on select international routes now receive 30kg of free checked baggage plus 7kg of free cabin baggage — a 50% jump from the previous 20kg allowance.
New Baggage Allowance Breakdown
The upgraded policy applies across fare tiers, with specific benefits at each level:
- Standard passengers (Value & Flex fares): 30kg checked + 7kg cabin baggage - Passengers traveling with infants: An additional 10kg, bringing the total to 47kg - Xpress Lite fare holders: 3kg personal bag allowance; additional baggage can be pre-booked at a lower cost - Business class (Xpress Biz) passengers: Up to 40kg on international flights, up from 30kg
All passengers must stow a laptop bag and a backpack under the seat in front of them when bringing both items into the cabin.

Serving the UAE's 3.8 Million Indian Residents
The UAE–India air corridor is one of the world's busiest, used by millions of passengers each year. The UAE is home to approximately 3.8 million residents of Indian origin — around 80% of the country's foreign population — concentrated primarily across Dubai, the Northern Emirates, and Abu Dhabi.
These updates reflect Air India Express's push to serve higher demand on the India–UAE route while giving travelers more flexibility on both baggage and destination choices.
