While Dubai will host approximately the 30th ITS World Congress on September 16-September 20, 2024, some 20,000 participants will convene in the UAE. Taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre and supported by the Roads and Transport Authority, this year’s Congress is particularly special as it is the first ever to be staged in the region. The theme for this year is ‘Mobility Driven by ITS’ – where new breakthroughs and innovations on smart mobility, transportation and green mobility will be highlighted.

Entering its third year, the Congress organised by Intelligent Transport in Europe (ERTICO) in partnership with ITS America and ITS Asia-Pacific will comprise 800 speakers in 200 sessions. As for the aspects of interest, attendees will be able to witness professional discussions and debates on the intelligent transport systems and technologies, smart city solutions, big data and analytics, autonomous vehicles, and the improvement of global cooperation.

Parallel sessions will cover such themes as automating freight and passengers across the modes, 5G and cybersecurity in transport, integrating sustainably for modern digital cities, technology for happier customers, and big data for mobility. These meetings are designed to promote a sharing of information as well as an identification of possible business affiliation that advance the cause of improved & enhanced transportation systems.

Finally, RTA stressed its implementations on developing new trends in transportation and ensuring sustainable transportation in accordance with visionary concept of Dubai. Organizing of the ITS World Congress provides a stamp of Dubai as a city of smart transportation systems for the future growth of intelligent transport systems for cities.

The event will consist of plenary sessions with specific topics, regional meetings and sessions, and numerous technical sessions throughout the week; a large exhibition area will be occupied by the leading transportation technologists and providers. Some participants can also immerse themselves in show and tell features, technical tours that allow them to understand in more detail how the sustainable mobility of cities will be in the future.

With giants of the industry due to assemble in Dubai, the RTA reaffirms its commitment to creating efficient, co-ordinate and environmentally sound transport solutions in accordance with Dubai’s long-term strategic plan. The ITS World Congress is also likely to focalise Dubai’s advances in smart transportation and its impact on the world’s transport. For more details, or to register, go to itsworldcongress. com.
