21-year-old Emirati Athlete Makes History as First Female Participant in ADXC Jiu-Jitsu Event

An Emirati athlete named Shamma Al Kalbani, burning with jiu-jitsu ardor, keeps onward despite for baseless window dressing.

Pursuing Excellence

Having established international reputations and earned numerous successes, Shamma’s ambition to win more has not been quelled. Be it on the Jiu-Jitsu Asian Championship’s podium, where she took her third consecutive gold medal just a day ago, or in another big tournament, Shamma “Skye” Alfan would continue her journey and delve into training for the upcoming challenge – fourth ADXC in Paris on May 18.

Historic Moment

Shamma’s participation in the ADXC will be considered a landmark and an unprecedented achievement as she is the first Emtiaz woman in history to compete in the Championship that happens both inside UAE and abroad.

New Challenges

On the emblematic site of the Dojo de Paris just a few feet away from the majestic Eiffel Tower, 7 fights jiu-jitsu and grappling contests that will be as exciting as can be. Shamma is scheduled to fight Lina Grosset in the jiu-jitsu encounter prelims where she will make her debut in the ADX cage as well.

Dedication to Success

What happened when Shamma won Asian Championship, it was not only her gold but also she helped with UAE’s 4th row in the top as champion. The glittering standard of her hard work is revealed through lengthy training sessions held for hours every day and a total confidence of her ability to go past given limits.

Balancing Act

Although Shamma’s sports accomplishments are remarkable, Shamma’s academic life is also paramount, therefore, she imparts her time in studying her undergraduate program of Emergency Management in Rabdan University in Abu Dhabi. Her motivation and presence in both academic and athletic fields would not have happened without her remarkable determination and offhandedness quality.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Gender equality in sports is also one of her priorities, and as a female athlete, she hopes to serve as a role model to many young women who aspire to career choice in the sporting arena. One of her goals is to participate in shaping the talent of the future, in particular for junior teams, so that her mentor gets much-needed assistance and the young players can be motivated to rise above the heights and get ahead.

Shamma Al Kalbani’s path represents fortitude, determination as well as resilience and therefore the crusade continues inspiring generations and thereby; Al Kalbani is most likely the phenomenon of Emirati athletics through her original empowerment.
