Abu Dhabi Judicial Department Achieves Qualitative Success in Global Judicial Indicators

Abu Dhabi: The ADJD has achieved a great achievement in the global indicators of judiciary, mainly in the duration of dispute resolution. The average time to resolve a case in first instance courts was 33 days while in appellate courts, it was 32 days in the first quarter of this year.

This achievement can be attributed to the department’s effort in implementing reforms in the judicial procedures due to the vision of Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court and the Chairman of Abu Dhabi Judicial Department.

1. Litigation Period Reduction:
• First Instance Courts: The amount of time it takes to address the average case has been cut to a half of one month or 33 days.
• Appellate Courts: Average case resolution time has been cut down to 32 days.
2. Complaint Reduction:
• A 83. 4 percent fall in the number of complaints received in the beginning of the year as compared to Q1 2023.
3. Online Services:
• The ‘Estafser’ (Inquire platform) had response time of 96% of the inquiries within the stipulated working days three.
4. Remote Judicial Requests:
• The total number of remote judicial requests has been done by the organization is 235,619.
5. Video Sessions:
• Carried out 16,570 video conferences in criminal matters and 137,949 in civil matters.
6. High Completion Rates:
• Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Cases Court: The success rate of 98% for 4,640 cases.
• Abu Dhabi Commercial Court: Thus, the chosen approach achieves 99% completion rate for 4,495 cases.
• Abu Dhabi Labour Court: The study had 99% for completion rate for the 758 cases.
7. Public Prosecution:
• Made 11,553 criminal orders and dispositions of 53,246 cases.
8. Criminal Courts:
• Made 35,704 final decisions with regard to criminal cases.
9. Notary Public Services:
• They carried out 20,810 notary public services, 14,724 certification services and 1,374 marriage contracts.

The Undersecretary of the ADJD, Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri said that the department aims at applying international standards in delivering its services and reducing the time taken in litigation and offering excellent service delivery. The ADJD uses modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to develop the judicial services and meet the challenges of the contemporary world.

Thus, adopting best practices and continuously enhancing its systems and operations, the ADJD seeks to enhance its performance and underpin the emirate of Abu Dhabi’s positioning on the world map of judicial excellence.
