In an effort to quell a resurgence of measles being reported worldwide, the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre kicked off a free MMR Vaccine immunization campaign to cover children aged between one and five years for three weeks. Victims are urged to ensure that their children are vaccinated, even those who have already taken a jab, this to ensure further shields.
The vaccination is offered at 58 centres in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra for those with chronic diseases until June 17. The goal of the program is to strengthen the early childhood immune systems and address the problem of measles transmission in a community.
