Amazon has officially rolled out its Amazon Now delivery service across the UAE, promising lightning-fast deliveries in as little as 15 minutes. The move marks a new chapter in the region’s e-commerce landscape, setting a high benchmark for speed, efficiency, and customer convenience.
The new service aims to redefine last-mile delivery, offering round-the-clock 24/7 operations through a network of micro-fulfillment centers strategically placed across the country. With the expansion, UAE residents can now order essentials such as fresh groceries, baby products, electronics, and personal care items — all delivered to their doorstep in minutes.
Micro-Fulfillment Power: The Technology Behind Amazon Now
At the core of Amazon Now’s speed lies its micro-fulfillment infrastructure. These compact yet high-tech facilities store thousands of popular items close to residential and commercial areas, dramatically reducing travel distance and delivery times.
By leveraging real-time demand data and hyperlocal inventory management, Amazon ensures that the most frequently ordered products are always within reach. This model not only improves efficiency but also reduces urban traffic congestion and carbon emissions, aligning with Amazon’s global sustainability goals.
Ronaldo Mouchawar, Vice President of Amazon Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, shared his excitement about the UAE rollout:
“Every innovation at Amazon starts with our customers. Amazon Now is designed for their pace of life here, bringing everyday essentials to their doorstep in minutes. Some customers are already receiving deliveries as fast as six minutes.”
Two-Speed Convenience: 15-Minute and 2-Hour Delivery Options
While the 15-minute service covers daily essentials, Amazon has also introduced a 2-hour delivery option for a wider range of over 30 product categories, including beauty, health, personal care, fashion accessories, and home appliances.
Products available for rapid delivery are clearly marked with a lightning icon and the label “Get it Today by XX:XXpm”, helping customers identify items eligible for express shipping.
Prime members benefit even further — they enjoy free delivery on Amazon Now orders above AED 25, while smaller baskets incur a minimal fee of AED 6. For 2-hour deliveries, Prime customers get free shipping for orders over AED 100 or pay AED 3 for smaller orders.
“The response has exceeded our most optimistic expectations,” Mouchawar noted. “Daily orders have grown by more than 40% month over month, and Prime members have doubled their shopping frequency after starting to use Amazon Now.”
