Dubai Fountain Nears Reopening After Major Makeover with Advanced Tech

The Dubai Fountain is one of the most emblematic tourist sites in Dubai, and will soon reopen after months of its closure due to a renovation. The world’s largest choreographed fountain has been closed since April 19, but is now being refilled with water, an indication that its reopening may be earlier than the October 1 deadline set by developer Emaar.

The Dubai Fountain is a must visit sight by tourists and has been built on a 30-acre Burj Lake in the area between the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. Reputed to be the most spectacular water, light and music fountain, previously the fountain would sprout up to 22,000 gallons of water to a height of 140 meters in chorus with international and Arabic music hits.

In the course of extensive upgrade, workers decided to drain the giant lake so that a new concrete floor can be laid down as a base with water proof properties. The attraction now is getting an upgrade to state of the art robotics, new choreography and a new state of the art sound and lighting installation to ensure even more impressive performances.

Recent photographs taken at the Apple store in Dubai Mall indicate that water is back into the lake indicating that the work is progressing much faster than anticipated. The fountain is back in business, but more testing still lies ahead, as well as some upscale adjustments.
