Dubai Future Foundation Unveils Gig Economy and PropTech Sandboxes to Drive Innovation

The Sandbox Dubai supports two new sandboxes introduced by Dubai Future Foundation (DFF): the gig economy and PropTech. An announcement was launched as part of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) to support the development of regulation, as well as to support the development of important sectors of the economy in Dubai.

The Gig Economy Sandbox is aimed in publicly experimenting for creating a flexible work environment for the workforce of Dubai by implementing new models of employment. Thus, it will build regulations that will fit the future type of work in the city, thus preparing the city to fit the changing world market.

On the other hand, the PropTech Sandbox is aimed at increasing the use of progressive technologies for real estate in Dubai and improving efficiency, as well as environmental impact. This initiative will make it possible to adopt a new regulation for the integration of new innovations in PropTech.

His Highness Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, has endorsed these initiatives, supporting its objective to double its economy in the next ten years and propel itself as one the three future economies of the world.

H.E. Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation underlined that Sandbox Dubai should prove valuable in defining the future of the emirate’s economy as it accustoms the participants of the public and the private sector. He pointed out that this endeavour will accelerate the advancement of advanced technologies and progressive business strategies, which will establish Dubai as the leading city in adopting future-oriented economic policies.

The launch of these sandboxes is very promising in terms of making Dubai an example for other cities to strive for in terms of economy and technology advancements in accordance to the vision of creating a melt neutral and future-proof economy.
