Dubai Launches Free WiFi at All Bus and Marine Transport Stations

RTA has come up with a new initiative in partnership with e&; providing free WiFi at all the bus and marine transport stations in Dubai so commuters no longer need to spend their money to utilize WiFi. It was announced on Tuesday, June 17, and it was a significant move in the journey of emirate to promote digital services to people.

The implementation of free WiFi spans 43 bus and marine transport stations operated by RTA, just in case passengers have to use their smartphone, tablets and laptops on the move or even before commencing the trip. This is among the initiatives of the RTA to enhance the overall customer experience in its public transport network, as the company has envisioned, to hasten digital transformation.

The RTA stated: This is part of our vision of delivering smooth online deeds and enhancing the comfort of passengers. We are constantly reviewing the service to deliver quality and certain connectivity in all transport stations.”

This rollout is based on the 360 Services Policy presented by RTA in March of 2025 that aims at the provision of customer services that are digital-first and are accessible without physical on-site visits. On such platforms as Dubai Now app, a customer is already able to use various RTA services such as journey planning, payments, and real-time updates among others.

It is believed that thousands of commuters will come across the WiFi program everyday and have a more engaging and workable experience as they travel. It is also aligned with broader smart city objectives of Dubai in ensuring technological advancement in the infrastructural components in the city.

As it is slated to further improve and even increase the signal range of the WiFi next year, RTA is already one step ahead in the modernization of the public transport making daily commute smart and efficient not only to people who live in the city, but also to everyone who visits it.
