New place for taxis to pick up and set down their passengers; Dubai Mall which is one of the biggest shopping mall in the world has changed its pick up and set down zone. From in front of Waitrose starting from August 12, 2024, known taxi spot has been relocated to Zabeel P3. This adjustment will mean that visitors will need to walk a little further, although the distance is considerably less than that which was previously described for arriving by Dubai Metro.
The new taxi rank is right across the road in the bridge tunnel from Ekart Zabeel and within walking distance to the rest of Dubai Mall. This may just pose a slight inconvenience for those who wish to lessen their walking distance While this is so, the location where taxis unload their passengers and pick them up is just a stone’s throw from the mall’s famed indoor waterfall.
This update was posted on Dubai Mall Instagram page under the Instagram story Highlighting the continued measures by the mall to regulate traffic and enhance visitor experience. Back in January Dubai Mall included parking costs for the first time with the parking utilising barrier free no ticket charge system using the vehicle plate number to charge the customer. However, the company continues to offer free parking in either in the Zabeel or Fountain Views area.
Dubai Mall has sought diversification, and is currently in the process of having a Dhs1. 5 billion expansion plan. The existing 1. 2 million square meters of space of the mall will soon be complemented by 240 more luxurious shops and restaurants. Being the second largest mall in terms of the total area in the world, Dubai Mall at that year was visited by more than 105 million people making it the most visited retail and lifestyle destination in the world.
A shift in the location of taxis is one of the newer moves within the Dubai Mall’s plan to improve convenience and adapt to the increasing numbers of visitors constantly coming in.
