Dubai Youth Retreat Highlights Emirati Youth’s Role in Shaping the UAE’s Future

The event launched by the Dubai Youth Council was the Youth Retreat in Dubai immersed the audience in creative solutions of Emirati youth for improvement of the country future. Supported by H. H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the retreat hosted more than 80 young leaders, officials of the government, fellows, and experts at the Etihad Museum.

Some of the main stakeholders to attend the event were, Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, the Minister of State for Youth Affairs; Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Working Applications; and Abdullah Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary-General of the Dubai Executive Council. It can be described as a vital opportunity to establish bridges between young people and leaders in the best focus on leadership, creativity and innovation.

H. H. Sheikha Latifa underlined that the retreat is in tune with Dubai’s visions of the future, while establishing the future leaders and decision-makers who are passionate about the nation’s progress. She was keen on pointing out the contribution of this retreat in fostering partnership between youths and policy makers which are vital in delivering on the sustainable development agenda.

Speaking along this line, Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi has also stressed the need to bet on youth as they are a generation that shapes the successful and sustainable future. He pointed out that the retreat follows the traditions since the first one that happened in 2016, facilitating the subsequent generation of National Youth Agenda by Emirati youth leaders to strive for Emirati innovative and positive social change vision 2031.

The retreat included the structured coaxing of ideas, group discussions, and seminars as the event concerned the organization in regards to economy and trade, innovation, military, space and the future, and community service. Giving solutions on how to prepare the youths for the future challenges , foster ethical principles, and to support national security and cultural heritage was also discussed.

According to Hassan Sabt President of the Dubai Youth Council, the retreat was more influential since it equipped youth with leverage to engage the leadership and the nation’s vision. The event culminated in the unveiling of six permanent dialogue platforms that would be interested in taking up topical issues to spearhead the realization of Dubai’s innovation city vision by the youthful energy and innovation.
