Newborns are a blessing to any family at any time — but there is something particularly special about a baby who arrives at the stroke of midnight on Eid Al Adha 2024. Across the UAE, families from Abu Dhabi to Dubai welcomed their newest members as the holy day began, with hospital staff joining in the celebrations.
Jordanian Family Welcomes Baby Humam in Abu Dhabi
The Jordanian couple Ali Abdulrahim Al Ibrahim and Hebah Fayez Said Al Zoubi named their newborn son Humam, born at exactly midnight at Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi. Humam weighed 4.150 kg — a healthy weight for a newborn — and is the couple's fifth child.
The parents expressed their joy at the doubly blessed occasion: "Can there be anything as special as this Eid, which makes us a family as we embrace our son into the world? We are happy to be a part of this wonderful family."
Hospital staff at Burjeel welcomed the new arrival with candles and sweets, adding to the festive spirit of Eid Al Adha 2024.
Indian Family Celebrates Eid Baby in Dubai
In Dubai, an Indian couple at Aster Hospital, Al Mankhool, also welcomed a baby boy through emergency caesarean surgery at exactly midnight on Eid Al Adha 2024. The birth was described by parents as a miraculous double celebration — the joy of new life arriving on one of Islam's most sacred holidays.
Both families expressed the sense of wonder that comes with an Eid birth, with the festive atmosphere of the UAE's Eid Al Adha 2024 celebrations making the moments even more memorable for everyone present.
A UAE Tradition of Eid Babies
Every year during Eid Al Adha, UAE hospitals record the births of babies born at the stroke of midnight, with proud parents and medical teams sharing in the joy. The 2024 Eid Al Adha celebrations saw families from diverse nationalities — Jordanian, Indian, Filipino, Egyptian, and Pakistani — all welcoming new life on the same sacred night across hospitals in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, and Ajman.
For these families, the coincidence of birth and Eid is seen as a divine blessing — a sign of good fortune for the child and for the wider family.
