‘No Accidents in 3 Years’: Dubai Police Honour Safe Drivers in Initiative that Saved Dh24 Million

A great deal of importance is attached to safe driving in Dubai and the positive attitude towards this aspect is reflected in the accomplishment of 22 drivers who have not committed any traffic violations or had any road accidents for the past three years, this was established by the Dubai Police. These driving were rewarded using a program of ‘Safe Driving Stars’ in a way that has helped to reduce costs and also improve road safety.

General Administration of Transport and Rescue, Colonel Samira Abdullah Al Ali of the Insurance Department stressed that this new move has answered all these factors and has led to a cut of 40 percent on traffic accidents associated with police vehicles. These losses have been minimized and have reduced government expenses by Dh24 million besides bringing down the average time per emergency response to 2. 5 minutes.
